Starset is an American electronic rock band from Columbus, Ohio that was formed by Dustin Bates in 2013.

Since its inception, the band has released a total of four full-length studio albums, namely Transmissions, Vessels, Divisions, and Horizions. In many respects an Internet-born band, much of Starset's continued success can be attributed to its strong online presence, most specifically its YouTube community.

Its highest ranking track is the Vessels single Monster, which managed to reach the #2 spot on the Billboard US Mainstream Rock chart in May of 2017.

It's second highest ranking track, My Demons, peaked at number 5 on the Billboard US Mainstream Rock chart and is widely considered the band's most popular song. If you know Starset, you know My Demons, and if you don't know Starset, you still know their song, My Demons.

In 2019, the band realised their third studio album, Divisions, which is heavily focused and driven by the band's extensive lore and storyline that is represented in their music videos on concerts.

In 2021, The band published their fourth album, Horizions.

Starset's sound is inspired by Linkin Park, Nine Inch Nails, and most importantly, Breaking Benjamin. Growing up as a major BB fan, Dustin's dream was to do a collab song with their lead singer, Benjamin Burnely. In 2022, Dustin completed his dream and wrote, Waiting on the Skies to Change, which was orignally a Downplay song.
